Portneuf church gets a face-lift

The little Anglican church in Portneuf, St John the Evangelist, built in 1884, has recently enjoyed a complete face-lift. Under the watchful eye of Warden Lawrence Christopher, this much loved building has been completely re-painted inside and out. The solid oak front door has also been refurbished and, much to the delight of Warden Mary Farnsworth, can now be opened and closed with comparative ease. The sills of four windows were replaced and new carpets have been ordered to beautify the central isle and the area surrounding the altar rail where people kneel for holy communion.
