Fort Haldimand, Sandy Beach
Fort Haldimand was one of three coastal batteries established by the Canadian Navy during the Second World War for protection on the Gaspé Peninsula. This base was active between 1939 until 1945. The Deanery of the Gaspe, Diocese of Quebéc bought Fort Halimand to service as a youth camp. Currently, it is managed by a Board of Directors and serves not only youth camps but also summer rentals.
Mr. Weston White is chairman of the camp's Board of Directors.
