The diocesan canons are the church law for this diocese. The canons for the diocese of Quebec were first made in 1859 and have been amended by various acts of Synods since then. The last major rewrite of the canons was approved by the Synod held in Gaspe in 1999 and there have been minor amendments made by the Synods of 2003, 2005 & 2007. The current edition is available below.
The diocesan constitution requires passage at two consecutive synods; the current version was approved at first reading at the 1997 Synod and adopted at the Synod in 1999.
